Mexico Resort Offers Private Jet to Newest World Wonder

Playa Xpu-Ha, Mexico (PRWEB) July 15, 2007 -- Luxe jet setters can conveniently travel in style to Chichen Itza, an architectural marvel recently voted to be part of the new seven wonders of the world, by way of private plane as part of the "7th World Wonder" package at Esencia Resort, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, in the Riviera Maya.

Traditionally, travelers trek to Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan Peninsula, with time to view only a portion of the site because of extensive travel time, 7 hours total! The "7th World Wonder" package allows vacationers to soak in the full beauty by reducing total travel time to 3 hours. At the archeological site, guests receive an exclusive private tour, picnic lunch for two and then are whisked back to Esencia by private plane. The 5 night/ 6 day package includes accommodations in a garden suite with private plunge pool, terrace, sitting area and spacious bathroom; daily breakfast and round-trip transfers to and from the Cancun International Airport. The "7th World Wonder" package rates start at $3,455 for a Garden Suite. Tax and service charges are additional and extra nights are available upon request. For reservations or more information, contact 1-877-528-3490 or www.hotelesencia.com.

Chichen Itza, meaning "at the mouth of the well of the Itza", contains many stone buildings in various states of preservation; most notably the Pyramid of Kukulkan and the Ball Courts. The Pyramid of Kukulkan, named after the king, is 79 feet tall and has 365 total steps, one for every day of the year. The Great Ball Court, used as an offering to the gods or to settle disputes by playing a game, is 40 feet long and has two 25 feet high walls that run alongside the field. It is said that only the noblest could attend the court itself, the general population having to listen from outside. Today, Chichen Itza is a world heritage site and is the second most visited of Mexico's archeological sites.

Guests of Esencia can enjoy Aroma Spa, the only pampering organic spa in the Riviera Maya. Guests are part of the preparation as each ingredient is mixed in front of them ensuring the most authentic experience. Sal y Fuego, Esencia's signature restaurant, specializes in international modern sophisticated cuisine with a Mexican flair. Chef Rojas, executive chef, offers cooking lessons at all levels including a Mini Pastry Chef class for children 4 to 8 years, a Junior Chef class for children 8 to 12 years and an Executive Chef class for adults.

Located in Playa Xpu-Ha, Mexico on a two-mile stretch of fine white-sand beach 46 miles south of Cancun, Esencia is the essence of simplicity, elegance and beauty. The resort of 29 spacious suites and guestrooms include spectacular views and features ranging from deep soaking plunge pools to a private solarium. The resort is managed by ProHotel International who also operates the celebrated La Pleta Hotel and Spa in the Spanish Pyrenees.
