New Mexico's First Male Fertility Practice/Vasectomy Reversal Specialist Opens in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) August 13, 2007 -- Men who are seeking vasectomy reversal services for the chance to father children no longer have to leave the state to receive high-caliber, thoughtful care. The Southwest Fertility Center for Men, located at the offices of Albuquerque Urology Associates, offers several types of vasectomy reversals, among other services geared toward helping couples find the best opportunity for a successful pregnancy.

Dr. Wayne Kuang, the leader of the new practice and a graduate of the Stanford School of Medicine, has dedicated his career to male fertility. He completed his residency in urology and his male fertility fellowship at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. He is the only male fertility fellowship-trained specialist in New Mexico. Dr. Kuang's study and research on sperm has lent itself to the basis for many advancements in male fertility, including the use of custom software for predicting the type of vasectomy reversal surgery required. He has also been nationally recognized for his innovative applications of technology in vasectomy reversals.

While Southwest Fertility Center for Men offers expertise in optimizing a man's reproductive capacity, the practice also recognizes how critical it is to take into careful consideration the needs of the woman's reproductive timetable. "Men are only half of the fertility equation, and consequently, it would be short sighted to individualize a treatment plan without first listening to a man's partner and hearing what her fertility doctors have to say," says Dr. Kuang. "We take the time to discuss a couple's options to make a safe and balanced decision as they build a healthy family."

In addition to his duties at Southwest Fertility Center for Men, Dr. Kuang is also the director of Male Reproductive Health at the University of New Mexico where he continues to be an active researcher in the fields of male fertility and andrology. Currently, he is actively conducting research on a novel imaging technology that may help male fertility specialists "see" into the testicle and locate sperm for infertile men.

Although Southwest Fertility Center for Men is a new option for New Mexico residents, it also takes out-of-state patients who have found the cost of reversals in other cities to be too expensive. "Our goal is to provide the best options possible for men who are not only considering vasectomy reversals, but at a cost that is reasonable," says Dr. Kuang. "We want to do all we can to provide excellent, compassionate care and be the best hope for men and couples from New Mexico and around the U.S. who are adding to or starting a family."

About the Southwest Fertility Center for Men: The only male fertility specialty practice in New Mexico, the Southwest Fertility Center for Men specializes in helping men and couples build healthy families through vasectomy reversal and the treatment of male infertility. The practice is lead by urologist Wayne Kuang, MD, and located at Albuquerque Urology Associates, 610 Broadway NE. Website: www.malefertilitydoctor.com. Phone: 505.242.3991.
