Jyco Mexico Plant Opens at Full Capacity

Guaymas, Mexico (PRWEB) April 16, 2008 -- Jyco Sealing Technologies has announced that all production lines in its new manufacturing plant in Guaymas, Mexico have been validated and are now running at full capacity. The facility produces multiple thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) weathersealing systems for 750 vehicles per day.

Only fifteen employees are required to run the extruding lines and molding stations producing glass run channels and lower door, sunroof and secondary seals at the highly automated 17,700 sq. ft plant. The facility, which is located 300 miles south of Tucson, Arizona, has been designed to be easily expanded to twice its size.

Like Jyco's other operations around the world, Jyco Latin America is dedicated exclusively to TPV production. Since its founding in 2000, Jyco has established itself as a world leader in TPV design, engineering and process technology for automotive, heavy truck and RV weathersealing applications. Jyco's proprietary TPV compound, JyFlexÔ, has proven to outperform traditional EPDM seals in many areas, and offers eco-friendly advantages as well. JyFlex products and scrap are 100% recyclable. The production process itself is free of VOCs and particulate emissions characteristic of EPDM processing.

The environmentally friendly attributes of Jyco's TPV products have earned JyFlex a place on a number of hybrid and electric vehicles. The company is taking a green approach to its facilities as well. One of Jyco's initiatives for 2008 is to assure that all new plants, renovations and expansions are LEED compliant, even those facilities in low-cost offshore countries where tight environmental standards do not apply. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. Jyco's global headquarters is in Dexter, Michigan.

Mentor For Hire Services Eases Your Move To Mexico
Sometimes I marvel at how my wife and I arrived in Guanajuato, Mexico, with so little Spanish and with so few cultural skills. Somehow we managed to survive some pretty severe bumps in the expatriation road. It was in our ninth month of living here when we decided we were sufficiently equipped to handle venturing away from the warm and secure nest that we rented from an American expatriate who had excellent bilingual skills. We believed we were ready to live in "real Mexico" and to cut the ties from this informal but very secure situation. We had a good guy who helped us out, a lot, when the frequent confusion of trying to adapt to a new culture overwhelmed us. We were not ready and could have used someone as a mentor to continue to guide u...
