'Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival' Now Drawing Race Car Drivers to Oaxaca, Mexico

(PRWeb) December 23, 2006 -- The "Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival" is now drawing Race car drivers to the beaches of this once sleepy little fishing town with its white pristine sands and yet Killer Monster sized waves which are famous or some would say "infamous" for breaking Surfboards in half & producing back-crunching barrels of green & white foamy waters. The high bank turns on race tracks like Winchester, IN. or Bristol, Tenn. have little on these turns (bottom turns) which the best of the best pro surfers will be making in Puerto Escondido come Feb 16 - 20, 2007.

Former Professional Race Car Driver turns in his stagger tires, quick change gears, methanol-crazed fans, for Surfing-crazed fans and green rooms inside of insane barreling waves in deep Oaxaca, Mexico; Former United States Auto Club "USAC" Race car driver Lonnie Caruthers has hung up his driver suit for a surfboard or rather Promoters hat to promote the Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca Mexico. NASCAR, IRL, USAC, WOO racing will be put on hold while Mr. Caruthers is working closely with Ms. Brandy White (Owner & Founder of Mexpipe.com.mx). The two have teamed up and begun a campaign that will look much like the Open wheel Racing/Party event known as the "Chilli Bowl" in Tulsa OK. where thousands of race fans head for a source of relief from the mid-west winter doldrums. The difference is this event will be held in the Pacific Ocean and Bright Sunshine on the Pacific Coast of Oaxaca yet with killer waves at a beach known for breaking surfboards and surfers in half, it's called the "Mexpipe." This year, with Carnival side by side with the A.S.P.

Mexpipe Challenge exploding on the sands of Mexico's Pacific coastline, it will turn it into a "Woodstock" type of event from Feb. 16 to 20, 2007.

"Surfing is my second love and giving back to it. Much like my family (Doug, Jimmy, Danny, Red & my late wife Paula Caruthers and I) have done in racing I now want give back to Surfing, a sport that is becoming a NASCAR type of event with ASP and other sanctioning bodies.

The surfing world has provided a sport that has always helped keep my Spirit free. I would love to invite some ole USAC drivers and friends down for our event like Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, J.J. Yeley and the list goes on. Unfortunately, racing committents this time of year will make their attendance doubtful.

Much like racing where drivers like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and other now famous names have be invited down-under to race in open wheel race cars, so are the Pro Surfers invited to surf in such contests around the world like the Billagong A.S.P. event which runs this coming Jan 1st thru the 8th, 2007. Sponsors in Racing should really start taking a look at this sport as it grows much like NASCAR has, only Surfing is about where NASCAR was in the mid 80's. We believe Surfing Events will grow much like racing has over the past 15 years and are wide open for fresh Sponsorships." said Lonnie Caruthers Founder/Owner Rubicon Promotions & Marketing: rpmSURFER.com & rpmRACER.com.

"Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival"

The Mexpipe Challenge has long been known to provide beach lovers and surfing-crazed fans for a source of relief from the winter doldrums. The prestige, pageantry, and popularity of the event brings out the best of the best, and Pro Surfing fans and beach go'ers from around the World will be flocking to Puerto Escondido to get the Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival experience.

They're already calling the Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival "The Woodstock of Mexico." It will be bringing Thousands & thousands of bare footed, Sunglass wearing, scantily clothed beach goers to put their feet in the warm waters of Mexico's Pacific Ocean & the white sand between their toes of Puerto Escondido's pristine beaches & coves of this once sleepy little fishing town.

From February 16 to 20, 2007, the area will once again witness the most important surf competition on Mexican soil. Taking place at beautiful Zicatela beach, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, for the 7th consecutive year, National and international competitors will reunite. On this occasion, two disciplines which are by far the two fastest growing water sports in Mexico, will be featured: surfing in the women's and men's categories.

These events are sanctioned by the (A.S.P) professional surfing association the (F.M.S) mexican surf federation and the (A.S.E.O.) the Oaxacan surf association. In addition to the surfing we will be living a beach atmosphere and celebrating carnival in which the public will enjoy carnival parades, spectacles, beach activities, fashion shows and concerts. The mexpipe challenge: the avant-garde of beach events, offers and invites on this occasion, the youth to participate in the carnival, which will be held parallel to the surf event.

The Mexpipe Challenge surf event will reunite surfers from more than 17 countries to compete in the women's and men's categories for their respective purses. The champions of each category will also compete in a man-on-man final for special prizes from many sponsors this year, making it an even larger extravaganza event, "Woodstock"! you're fairly warned

More, much more than just a Surfing event:

Carnaval De La Costa Puerto Escondido Oaxaca 2007

This year, carnival goers will enjoy the presence of the famous Amaranta Ruiz (the actress best know for her TV Program "Puro Loco") as our Queen of Carnival. By night the carnival is a celebration full of colors and music, costumes, dance, smiles, and parades; men and women mingle in the streets in a dreamy atmosphere in a representation of happiness without any worries. The event of carnival has a purse of $15,000 US.

The concerts this year will be held at night on the beach with reggueton: the music of the generation. The public has the possibility to encounter the musicians in live performances in intimate circumstances in small jams after the concerts.

There also will be at least two fashion shows, one of high fashion and the other of bikinis at night in a beach atmosphere with beautiful international and national models.

The bikini contest will fill your eyes with extreme images and emotions, thanks to the attractive but very dangerous curves of the international and national competitors.

It's taking on a very thrilling look and an intense "Woodstock" feeling of excitement and interest for the entire State of Oaxaca. From February 16-20, 2007, the area will once again witness the most important surf competition on Mexican soil.

Puerto Escondido offers an extraordinary variety of white sand beaches, surf breaks, hidden coves and fresh water lagoons. a traditional Mexican fishing village located 180 miles south of the city of Oaxaca and 70 miles west of Huatulco Bay on the southern Mexico Pacific coast. Puerto is very Un-Cancun and offers a taste of old Mexico with some of the best Mexico beaches and world class surfing.
